Former Republic of Ireland boss Steve Staunton has been unveiled as the new Darlington manager. Staunton who has a contract with Darlington until the end of season, managed the Republic of Ireland in 34 games, guiding them to 12 victories. Kevin Richardson has been named as his assistant. In other managerial news Ian Sampson has been appointed as manager off Northampton Town. He had been acting as caretaker manager since Stuart Gray left the club. Ian Sampson had been in charge of the cobblers for a short period three seasons ago.
Accrington Stanley have lost one available option to pay off the £308,000 they owe to HM Revenue and Customs as shareholder Ilyas Khan has withdrawn his offers of paying off the clubs debts, citing the boards reluctance to accept his help.

Chesterfield have taken Wolves defender Mark Little on a month's emergency loan. Previously Mark Little has had two spells on loan at Northampton Town, making 27 first team appearances in the process.
