
AFC Telford United have raised £2000 to donate to the "help for Hereos" charity after a charity match between BBC Radio Shropshire and club sponsor Simmonds Transport. The money will be handed over before this Saturdays match at the New Bucks Head against Vauxhall Motors. Ian Sawyers will be at the New Bucks Head to receive the money on behalf of "Help the Hereos". In addition the Learning Centre will be selling Peacekeeper Ale, brewed by Herefordshire based Willoughby Brewery,before and after the match. 35p of the £2 bottle will be donated to "Help the Hereos".
In footballing news, Sean Newton AFC Telford Uniteds left back has been called up into the England 'C' squad as they travel to Poznan to take on Poland's Under 23's.
