League Two news

Ian Sampson has been told he will have his contract renewed if he takes Northampton Town to this season's playoffs. Northampton are currently nine points off the play off places but with just eleven games played, there is plenty of time for the cobblers to clinch a playoff place. Chairman David Cardoza was quoted told BBC Northampton "If he gets us promoted or to the playoffs he's guaranteed another season, otherwise it will be up to me to decide".

Former Everton head of human resources officer Gary Townsend has been appointed as Notts County's chief executive.

Robin Shroot returned to Birmingham City early after ending his season long loan to Burton Albion after three months.
