Blue Square Premier Roundup
With a number of clubs playing in the FA Cup there was a limited programme in the Blue Square Premier. The story of the day is at the Deva Stadium where the match between Chester and Eastbourne Borough was abandoned because of supporters protesting on the field of play. It will be disappointing for a number of reasons for Chester as they were winning 3-2 at the time the game was abandoned. It will be interesting how the club will be treated for this if they survive being thrown out of the league due to unpaid debts.
Ebbsfleet United got a much needed 3 points against promotion seeking Mansfield. Magno Viera and Peter holmes scored goals either side of a Rob Duffy goal for Mansfield. Ebbsfleet are still seven points behind Eastbourne Borough.
2 goals in 3 minutes from Daryl Clare and Kris Gate secured a much needed win over visitors Crawley Town. Michael Malcolm scored for the Lambs.
Petar Rnkovic scored the only goal of the game as Grays Athletic beat Tamworth. Grays are now 3 points from safety.
At Aggborough AFC Wimbledon beat Kidderminster 1-0 thanks to a Danny Kedwell goal. This victory lifted the Wombles up to 7th place in the league.
A 1st half injury time winner was enough for Stevenage to take advantage of the fact Oxford United were playing in the FA Cup, and close the gap at the top of the table to two points. Charlie Griffin scored the all important winner. Chris Todd was sent off for Salisbury for two bookings.
